We saw our first Great Gray Owl north of Duluth, MN, along Lake Superior. He or she was perched low in a tree, so near the highway that every passing vehicle ruffled its feathers. We were able to approach within arm's length, shoot a few full-frame photos, and leave, seemingly without disturbing the bird. What a remarkable experience!         Back to "Free Charts"
